The Lechweg

Follow one of the last wild rivers in Europe

The Lechweg promises an unforgettable hiking experience through the breathtaking alpine landscape along the wild river Lech. Over a distance of 125 kilometres, the trail takes hikers from Lake Formarin near Lech am Arlberg via Warth through the Tyrolean Lech Valley to the Lech Falls near Füssen in the Allgäu region. The trail not only offers fascinating views of the surrounding mountains, but also exciting encounters with alpine flora and fauna. With a bit of luck, hikers can observe herds of ibex along the Lechweg and cross the spectacular high bridge in Holzgau.

They also pass historic villages such as Elbigenalp and Martinau, which are known for their picturesque "Lüftlmalerei" paintings. The Lechweg is not only scenic, but also culturally significant and has even been certified as a "Leading Quality Trail" by the European Hiking Association. Discover the diversity and beauty of the Lechweg and experience a unique hiking adventure that takes you through three regions and two countries with their respective traditions and histories.

Along the Lechweg, nature dances to the rhythm of the hiker and tells stories of unspoilt beauty and boundless freedom.
